We supply reviews and repair parts for treadmills and elliptical machines for the professinal gyms and home users.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
To fill a gap in the market that was much needed
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
I launched my first site in 1995 and it was just a personal site that didn't get that much traffic.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Treadmilldoctor.com because we did service and repairs to treadmills only in the begining but have recently expanded to elliptical machines.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We are one of the only sites selling repair parts for treadmills on the internet and we are one of the most respected in the industry because of our reviews.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Get rich by helping people.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
pretty well
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would develop a house on a beach somewhere and find a nice model to live happily ever after with.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
You have to be able and ready to do this.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
adding inventory items. Thousands and thousands
What has been your biggest challenge?
growing the site and business from the back end to the front end.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
word of mouth.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
not much
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been up since 1999 and is still in a growing stage.
