Please give us a short summary of your website?
We are here to give the best educative information about sleep apnea. So many people are unaware the this major health issue! We also supply alternative medicine; the CPAP!
What inspired you to launch your own website?
There has become an unaware sense of how tired people really are, and there are a lot of staticts that back it up, so we feel that people should be in the know, even if they dont have sleep apnea, there are quite a few other sleep disorders that people should be aware of. People are also trying out sleep aids, and finding out they are only make the problem worse!
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
We first started in June of 2006.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Seeing that our site is MySleepApnea, we are talking about people with sleep apnea, and how to cope, alternative medicines, and the serious health conditions that can happen if you dont recognize the issue, and how get resolutions.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We are different, because we on-site at out location work first hand with persons who suffer from sleep apnea, and we can get a real hold of the general public is going thru, with that we try to protry in out educative information how serious sleep apnea conditions are, life threating, if they go untreated. We are super easy user-friendly!
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To educate people who are unsure of whats wrong, why they cant sleep, or have other conditions of sleep deprivation. We do also have an online store where people can purchase either via self pay, or through insurance a CPAP machine and other CPAP accessories.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It has all balanced very well. We have a great in-house staff, that works as a TEAM! And together we are making a difference, to educate and supply the public with knowledge as well as alternative medicines!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I dont know if we would change anything. I am very happy with the results and I think that had we had an unlimited budget things would still be the same as they are now.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absoulty! We have a great team, and we would really get the job done, the right way, together, as well as sharing the enjoyment of being able to come together and make this such a big demand!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
We have in the past had some people come aboard our team, and not have been team-players, by doing this it was a waste of company money, time, and set us back a bit.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Some of the composition in putting together the website was difficult. We decided to upgrade to a newer program, and we all found that it was something that we were all going to need some to get to know and understand. That as well took some time away, but now we are all knowledgable in a new program, and have made the site that much more appealing.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Because we have been in this business for 15 years we have always had a good word of mouth rapport, but recently with the way technology has grown in 15 years we have built an awesome network online, and have found new ways to get us out on the web as well.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is a lot to update, all the time. There is always new information coming out, new discoveries, and trying to really keep up with that and getting it delivered to people in a manner that everyone can understand.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has been running for about 2 years now. I plan on keeping it for as long as possible, or until we go bankrupt! Enjoying traffic gains, income, and popularity is what everyone is striving for. If we didnt want to gain all of those things, then we are in the wrong business...
