What is the nature of our website?
We sell a natural skin care product made wth neuropeptides, which help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, especially expression lines such as crow's feet and frown lines. We also sell a natural under-eye serum that helps reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We liked the clinical studies on peptides and believe there is a great demand for natural anti-wrinkle products.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
We first launched the website around the beginning of August, 2007.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It seemed like a fairly descriptive name of the website as well as having keyword-like properties.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It has a good concentration of peptides along with other proven ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, which is excellent for hydrating mature skin.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our eventual goal is to build up a good clientele.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far, we have not seen any hits on our site. We have to monitore our optimization efforts and constantly refine them. This will take some time, but we are hopeful if we optimize it, they will come.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would advertise the products in national magazines. As for the website, I'm fairly satisfied with the looks of it. And again, time will tell how our SEO is working.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, we will be able to keep up with the demand.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Refunds, more employees, keeping inventory stocked.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Definitely, our small amount of capital and SEO.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Nothing as yet.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is as expected. My partner and I have good teamwork. One of us does design and SEO, the other is a god code man for back end operations of the site.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We have had the site up for about 2 months and will continue to keep it up for as long as necessary.
What are my hopes for this business?
To truly build it up, aquire a lot of customers, and continue to add products the site that can benefit the health and appearance of our customers.
