These are a few issues that can result from an iodine deficiency:
Iodine deficiency predisposed to fibrocystic disease of the breast (FDB) and breast cancer
Administration of thyroid hormones to iodine deficient women increased further their risk of breast cancer
The report indicates that 1 out of 7 female patents that visit a doctor are iodine deficient!
