Last Sunday morning, we had to rush my mom in the hospital for she was having a heart attack. Actually situations like this one is nothing new because she always has this occasional attacks like once every year.Not that we are always anticipating such event will happen, but at least we're prepared in case it happen again and also a bit prepared for what might happen to her. And last Sunday, it did happen again. Though we are used to this kinds of situations, I still can't help but cry everytime I see my mom being rush to the hospital or everytime a syringe is lanced in her skin. When I was a kid, my mom would always scold me if I stay too late because of computer games. They will always say computer games is bad for our health, mentally and physically. Mentally because all of you can think of even at school are games and physically because you forgot to eat on time and stay up too late hours. When I was still in grade school and high school, I used to play badminton and a combat sports called arnis. Just this morning I read an article about the increasing number of people acquiring AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) despite the fact that the world has now better access to medical facilities as compared to the previous years. Monday, a parade that can perhaps be considered as the largest in the world that aims to fight breast cancer was held in Manila, Philippines. About 8,000 people joined the parade dubbed as the Walk Vs. Breast Cancer 2008. The event was simultaneously done in other parts of the country, marking a total of 30,000 people. he event was sponsored by Avon Philippines and the proceeds of the event will go to different breast cancer foundations that helps people with breast cancer cope with heir situation and also to help promote the awareness about the deadly disease.
