A form of medicine that treats the whole person, and not just a specific symptom, is what Homeopathy is simply known as being. It is based on the theory which states that "like cures like."
This would simply mean that there are treatments that are similar to the illness which can be considered as designed to cure.
While it may be that the roots of homeopathy may certainly extend back as far as the fifth century BC, back to the Greek physician Hippocrates, modern homeopathy actually dates back around two hundred years or so to physician, chemist, author, Samuel Hahnemann.
