A short thread on Twitter...
verwon: Pepsi claimed that Pepsi Twist wasn't selling, now they release Pepsi Lemon...the marketing genius here is overwhelming!
techjungle: Why would anyone buy any of that crap anyway? Pepsi
verwon: To drink!
techjungle: but why would you make your body suffer through the likes of Pepsi or Coca Cola?
verwon: Because it is MY body, I AM an adult and I happen to ENJOY them! No go lecture someone else with your propaganda, I'm busy!
techjungle: But.. if I have to pay for your medical care... then what you put in your body is my problem! Do you put crap in your cars gas tank?
verwon: DRINK COFFEE AND BOOZE, TOO! OH MY GOD!
techjungle: coffee and booze is probably a big step up from Pepsi and Coca Cola
verwon: Now you are being a presumptive ass! I pay for my own damn medical care!
techjungle: I guess that is why Your president is always talking about a "health care crisis" though he really means a medical care crisis.
verwon: You are now officially dubbed A--HOLE! Some of us work for a living and pay for our own medical care!
techjungle: I pay for my own medical care and I don't support businesses that increase the health care burden of those who don't: Pepsi, Coke!
verwon: Donnette It is @mcgeneral and @techjungle they are a--holes!
techjungle: At least I am a healthy a--hole and support other people to be healthy... a--holes or not.
techjungle: do you put sand in your gas tank? piss in your auto oil? Why do you care for your car and treat your body in an unworthy manner?

That seems to be a question no one wants to answer! Why do we respect our cars and other electronic and mechanical devices with such respect while treating our bodies so poorly? Certainly a small amount of sand in your gas tank won't hurt... at least not at first... but maybe after days, weeks, years or decades... depending on how little we add every day!
Now every time you open your mouth to eat or drink something you have the choice to make it a step toward the path of health or non-health. Sure those occassional unhealthy bites or bottles of pop won't make any big difference. Not at first, but each one takes you just a little further on the path to being unhealthy. Sooner or later you will notice it. Sooner or later those occassional unhealthy bites and stuff will turn into your regular diet. It will be very difficult to get off that path.
Consumption of any unhealthy product, even if you "pay your own" medical care also helps takes others down the path of non-health (many of which do not pay for their own health care). For example, every bottle of Pepsi or Coca Cola you buy is financially supporting the businesses that manufacture that stuff. That support encourages them to increase their marketing efforts, which in turn leads more people down the path of non health.
I would question if anyone is truly an adult if they enjoy consuming substances that lead them toward a path of being unhealthy?
