The Risk Of Being Obese

By Dr. Boolittle at 07/01/08 07:22

One of the single greatest contributor of disease worldwide is obesity. If it is not treated and given proper attention, it will cause premature death to people affected by it. Obesity has been disregarded for many years simply because no one wants to get in front of the idea of eating. Eating is a necessity for many that must not be deprive from anyone.

But seriously, nowadays you do not just because you need it, many eat just out of habit, without knowing the risk of eating irresponsibly.

There have been many risk that obesity imposes to a person. I've had my share of knowing how these people are treated and feel about their health. I have friends who are actually obese.

One of the main effect of obesity is that it gives the person a low self confidence. Self esteem is very important. If you do not have that, you will not be able to do many things at all. Sometimes, the issue of discrimination also takes place. No one wants to be on the train with an uberly obese man. I have seen this scenario a lot of times, and all I can do is feel sorry for that person.

Aside from egoistic effect, major health concerns are also masked behind obesity. Type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, gallbladder diseases, reproductive problems, sexual disabilities, respiratory diseases, difficulty in breathing or apnea and in some cases, it also causes cancer.

Nowadays, we have all the resources we need in order for us to know and research about how to avoid and how to counter the effects of obesity.

It is a serious matter than needs proper attention. It is a fatal situation that one must always avoid being in.

Limiting the food doesn't mean you don't have to eat at all. You just have to take control of everything and put it in balance.
