This morning I visited the Chinatown in Manila, Philippines and found out that the Chinese Medical Community building is still standing. I mean, the last time I heard of it was that it was scheduled for demolition because a new more modern building will be built in its location.
That medical community building have been standing there since the 60's and it kinda look old now. But the building is still being used from what it is originally built for, catering to patients and supporters of the old Chinese Traditional Medicines.
Of course, when you hear of the word Chinese Traditional Medicine, you swiftly think of the herbs, plants that the ancient doctors used for healing their patients. Although there are really a lot of those plants that you are thinking housed in this building, the most famous products that they offer would be that from animals and not from plants.
I asked the store manager what would they advise for someone suffering from extreme back pain, and they offered me a bottle with a green oil and inside it is a floating leaf with a fish liver as they said. According to him that is very effective for extreme muscle pains. Hmmmm, ok. Moving on...
I also jokingly asked what is the best solution for impotence. No, I am not impotent. So there, I asked that and he told me silently, as if he wanted to whisper it as if it was a secret, that the best cure for that is the male organ of a tiger. And I'm like, WTF! He showed me a bottle with oil inside and a floating penis of a tiger. Haha it was funny at first but then I realized, these people are not doing the right thing. How could they take the organ of an endangered animal? The tigers are already having a hard time reproducing in the wild and then they would take the instrument for its reproduction? C'mon that's not a good thing. Now I know why he just whispered it, because selling that is illegal in many countries.
And the price for the tiger's penis is a whopping $7,000! I could already buy a good used car with that! Aside from cruelty to animals, they also promote cruelty to my pocket. I'm good with their medicinal herbs but I ain't supporting their exotic animal medicines.
